Position Title : Lead Software Engineer

Job Description :

Responsible for contributing to technical architecture, design, implementation, data modelling, deployment, and support of applications. Assess business requirements, provide feedback, and suggest opportunities for improvements to analyst design based on technology opportunities and to design an application that thoroughly meets those business requirements. Work with colleagues and end users to design, develop, and implement solutions to meet business outcomes. Design, develop and implement end to end platform solutions. Perform hands on development, data modelling, code quality, static code analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, continuous integration, release management, performance tuning, and execution. Participate in setting technical direction, sprint planning, release planning, and prioritization of work on the platform. End to end involvement in application lifecycle phases including DevOps process, release deployments, and support. Position is fixed location based in Boston office; however, telecommuting from a home office is allowed.

Job Requirements :

Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related field plus four (4) years of experience as a software engineer or other occupation/position/job title involving enterprise software development.

Must have four (4) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
  • Developing software for Investment Applications and Financial Markets
  • Building performant services serving large amounts of data
  • Software design patterns
  • Modern software development and test methodologies including GIT and Jenkins CI
Must have three (3) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
  • Data architecture principles
  • Designing relational and document-oriented data models
  • Java EE
  • Working with complex financial securities
  • Implementing Web-Services
Will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related field plus seven (7) years of experience as a software engineer or other occupation/position/job title involving enterprise software development in lieu of a Master's degree plus four (4) years of experience.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, $158,000-190,000/year
