Position Title : Lead Software Engineer

Job Description :

Use quantitative and software engineering skills to drive software development of Wellington's next generation of quantitative tools. Specifically, participate in full-cycle software development, including development, regression testing, deployment, and production support. Provide technical contribution to a development team with responsibility for architecture, design, and implementation. Partner closely with investment, risk, and research teams to understand business needs and to create effective technical solutions. Participate in implementation of business process improvements involving, but not limited to, investment process efficiency, data quality improvements, and simplifying investor workflow. Position is fixed location based in Boston office; however, telecommuting from a home office location may also be allowed.

Job Requirements :

Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a directly related field plus four (4) years of experience driving the analysis, design, development, and implementation of complex business critical applications.

Must have four (4) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
  • Working experience in various financial instruments and investment data concepts
  • Experience with implementing models for securities, risk, bond analytics, and scenario analysis
  • Experience developing J2EE solutions using Java, JDBC, Web Services, Messaging, and related technologies
  • Experience with Multi-threaded applications and frameworks
  • Experience building micro services using Java and Spring framework tools
  • Experience with AWS services, including S3, EC2, RDS (Postgres or MySQL), lambda, and CloudFormation
  • Experience with data analysis and using SQL or another relational database technology
  • Experience with design patterns and data architecture principles
  • Experience with modern software development and testing methodologies, including Artifactory, GIT, and Jenkins CI
Will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of experience in driving the analysis, design, development, and implementation of complex business critical applications in lieu of a Master's degree plus four (4) years of experience.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, $158,000-190,000/year.
