The Head of Fund Administration is responsible for the strategic direction and ongoing management of multiple fund administration functions within Global Fund Services (GFS) and providing leadership and guidance to subordinate managers. The Fund Administration group for GFS is responsible for providing multiple services to a broad range of investment management clients. Services include but are not limited to: financial reporting, regulatory reporting, , treasury and budgeting, and investment performance. This role is accountable for service and delivery, deployment of operational and technical change, people management, expense management, and supporting business development and industry engagement.
Major Duties
• Dynamic leader with extensive business experience, and broad functional expertise, with focus on proactive strategic leadership able to manage multiple units or functions.
• Develop, communicate, and execute a tech-forward long-term functional strategy to achieve key business objectives; Sets strategy in line with company strategy and objectives.
• Coordinate global efforts to analyze markets and market segments to determine opportunity and strategy for delivering our products
• Work with Product to advocate for new capability and operational optimization through the creation of business cases that drive capital investment.
• Represent the firm on industry-wide matters such as conference panels, press interviews, publications, etc.
• Represent the Fund Services voice on regulatory matters impacting our clients including attending industry trade group meetings and speaking at industry conferences
• Advocate and prioritize operating model and technical changes to transform functions in support of corporate goals. Work with Business Analyst & IT teams to drive operational improvement and embrace new technology and automation.
• Optimize global resources, cost, service quality and risk mitigation within the practice.
• Implement and maintain strong policies, procedures, and standards.
• Implement and maintain an oversight framework for vendors and interdependent business units, ensuring quality of service and competitive commercial arrangements.
• Establish and use metrics to assure delivery versus expectations, identification of and action on trends as well as adherence to standards.
• Accountable for business unit financials, including developing and managing expense budgets.
• Promote the growth of business through direct or indirect engagement in client and prospect meetings. Apply in-depth knowledge of own organization function as well as business and commercial expertise to differentiate the company from the competition
• Develop and maintain strong industry relationships and participation, both directly and through extended leadership team.
• Provide extensive technical expertise and demonstrate strong business acumen.
• Display a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
• Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced critical thinking.
• Work with extended management team to develop partners, both technically and professionally and contribute to overall people management process.

Qualifications - External

• 15+ years of management and technical experience in Mutual Fund Industry
• Previous experience managing multiple fund administration functions or business units and making independent decisions on behalf of the business.
