The Senior Director, Product Management - Mutual Funds will be a recognized expert that will support the offering of Mutual Funds through the products life cycle. Responsibilities include driving the full product life cycle, defining the product strategy, proposing and leading various corporate actions and product enhancements, monitoring and managing ongoing expenses of existing Mutual Funds, and supporting ongoing Board engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage existing product line. This includes monitoring fees to ensure alignment with internal pricing guidelines, identifying and proposing enhancements to the existing product line which align with client demand and trends. Represent the Product organization in a variety of forums in order to address various inquiries, including Columbia specific product features, product trends in the marketplace, and the regulatory environment impacting Mutual Funds.
  • Lead efforts associated with enhancing existing product line up, and drive development of new strategies and products which meet client demand and firm capabilities, including the expansion of alternative strategies into less liquid retail structures.
  • Participate in Board related activities, in support of the existing Mutual Fund inventory. This includes product reviews and new product approvals, annual pricing review, market and peer comparisons, and other ongoing Board related inquiries.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure full awareness of new and existing regulations. Ensure existing products are in compliance with current regulation, and create solutions and identify potential opportunities resulting from regulatory changes.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Recognized Mutual Fund expert, with expertise throughout all aspects of the mutual fund vehicle and functionality, including compliance rules and applicable regulation
  • Financial services experience, preferably in product development and/or management for assigned product line
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with or lead across the organization and at all levels to drive results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using data to identify trends and issues and potential ways to solve issues
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large and complex projects, including planning, status and issue management
  • Excellent communication skills including proposal/presentation development and delivery, and meeting facilitation
  • Flexibility to work effectively with sales and investments teams
  • Series 7 and 66 or the ability to obtain within a defined period of time


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of alternative assets, their role within a portfolio, and the various structures best suited to bring these strategies to retail clients
  • Management / leadership experience
  • Industry experience, including Wealth Management, Transfer Agent, Custodian, etc
