What you will be responsible for: Using discretion and judgment, the Specialized Services Associate, provides customer service and problem resolution assistance to MFS' Financial Intermediaries and Institutional Clients. Supports and is a resource for managers and other MFS departments providing customer service, problem resolution and transaction processing assistance to MFS clients.

  • Acts as a contact for internal and external clients
  • Runs and reviews daily, weekly and monthly reports as assigned by management.
  • Displays project management skills that require long term planning and communication both with the client and department management.
  • Makes recommendations for improving procedures or workflow and documents departmental procedures.
  • Researches and provides CDSC history for transfer activity moving into or out of an omnibus house account.
  • Performs special research and processing projects as necessary.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of Dealer Functions including NSCC, Fund/SERV and Networking systems.
  • Acts as a resource for peers, clients, and management.
  • Provides feedback to department management on internal processes.
  • Independently interacts and coordinates with other departments to resolve questions and problems.
  • Acts as a liaison with MFSC IT for outstanding technology issues.


  • Acts as a contact for internal and external clients to coordinate routine processing, identify and resolve service issues.
  • Utilizes MFSC technological resources to ensure consistent delivery of quality service to client.
  • Evaluates and processes a wide variety of transactions and customer requests.
  • Analyzes service issues and recommends solutions according to departmental and company guidelines.
  • Accountable for all aspects of workflow, from receipt through processing and quality review.
  • Acts as a resource for peers, clients, and management.
  • Performs quality control review of processed items.
  • Receives, assesses and processes exception items/projects as required.
  • Runs and reviews daily reports as assigned by management.
  • Monitors department queues and coordinates response.
  • Performs special research and processing projects as necessary.
  • Ensures Internal Control Matrix and procedures are kept up to date.
  • Performs additional duties as requested.


  • Associates degree or equivalent preferred
  • 18+ months industry experience preferred one year MFS experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Strong written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlines
