About the Fixed Income Team : This department is responsible for the research, management and trading of all fixed income securities and the execution of all currency transactions. The Fixed Income Research Department has research analysts and associates who analyze the credit quality of issuers and issues being considered for purchase or currently held in the portfolios. They analyze industry factors, borrower fundamentals and debt structure issues. It is their responsibility to make buy-hold-sell recommendations based on the relative value of the security in the market place. About the Structured Team: The structured market consists of fixed income securities backed by assets ranging from auto loans to mortgages on commercial properties. The three primary sectors of the market are ABS (asset-backed securities), CMBS (commercial mortgage backed securities) and RMBS (residential mortgage backed securities) with a combined US market size of ~$7 trillion. The team consists of eight members, including portfolio managers, analysts, and traders. The group's primary responsibility is to seek investment opportunities across structured investments for fixed income portfolio mandates. Job Responsibilities :
  • Work closely with sector analysts to perform credit analysis of various structured product bond investments.
  • Analysis of sector fundamentals relevant to securities being reviewed
  • Analysis of macro and micro economic issues relevant the sectors being reviewed
  • Collect financial data and other relevant market information from databases, financial statements, and third party research to be utilized in the development of financial models and credit/investment reports
  • Assist analysts and portfolio managers in the understanding of the fundamental drivers of the assigned sectors and the implication of that data on the broader Fixed Income and Equity markets
  • Assume additional projects and responsibilities as required

Job Requirements:
  • All majors welcome with skills in critical thinking and analysis being key
  • Coursework in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Statistics may be helpful but not required
  • Exceptional analytical skills, ability to gather and concisely compile large amounts of information
  • Ability to work independently on complex projects
  • Computer/modeling skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. a plus
