At MFS, you will find a culture that supports you in doing what you do best. Our employees work together to reach better outcomes, favoring the strongest idea over the strongest individual. We put people first and demonstrate care and compassion for our community and each other. Because what we do matters - to us as valued professionals and to the millions of people and institutions who rely on us to help them build more secure and prosperous futures.

What you will be responsible for:
As the Legal Analyst, you are responsible for paralegal support to the Distribution and Investment Ops group. In this role, you will assist with distribution matters, regulatory filings, certain trading related issues, and client service requests.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Draft various intermediary agreements and amendments with banks, broker-dealers, insurance companies, and retirement plan recordkeepers. Examples include dealer, marketing support, participation, and rebate agreements.
  • Prepare both periodic and ad hoc updates to certain registration statements and other required form filings, such as Forms BD and BR and Part 2B of Form ADV (a/k/a "Brochure Supplements").
  • Complete documentation in connection with broker-dealer onboardings and know-your-customer ("KYC") refreshes. Documentation varies by counterparty and jurisdiction but typically solicits information about MFS' corporate structure and beneficial ownership, as well as its investment advisory business (e.g., client types and instruments traded with the counterparty).
  • Confirm disclosure that is provided in response to requests for proposal and client due diligence questionnaires. Such disclosure may comprise the details of regulatory licenses held by MFS and its subsidiaries, a summary of any pertinent regulatory actions or litigation, and a description of recent material changes to Form ADV.
  • Perform additional duties as the needs of the group may entail. Flexibility in responding to matters as they arise is essential.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of work experience.
  • Intellectual curiosity and an aptitude for learning.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills: attention to detail, thoroughness, and a willingness to ask questions.
  • Ability to manage workflow and prioritize competing deadlines.
