Director/Senior Director, Capital Markets - Taiwan

We are currently seeking a Director/Senior Director to join our growing Capital Markets platform with a primary responsibility for originating and executing commercial real estate transactions in the Taiwan market.

The candidate will be part of the Taiwan Capital Markets team and he or she will assist in maintaining a strong network of stakeholders in the Taiwan real estate market including investors, developers, and operators. The successful candidate should possess a sound understanding of general real estate markets in Taiwan and utilize this knowledge to help originate and execute transactions for the capital markets team.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate and highly motivated about adding value and delivering superior results to the team. The role will be based in Taiwan and will report directly to the Head of Capital Markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Involvement in the execution of both buy and sell side transactions, working with local and regional deal teams;
  • Undertake propco and opco financial modelling customized for the underwriting of potential real estate acquisition/divestment transactions
  • Develop a sound understanding of the real estate markets in Taiwan, and be able to interpret and analyse market trends and fundamentals;
  • Maintain a positive profile in the real estate community, proactively engage in business development activities through networking, industry seminars and leveraging the existing relationships of other business units;
  • Manage all aspects of client relationship, develop and maintain long-term relationships through strong personal networks and contacts
  • Lead and provide guidance to co-workers and analysts, and contribute towards business development and strategic objectives of the team and wider capital markets group;
  • Collaboration with internal and external research & analysis;
  • Support and drive forward the CRM programme for major clients;

REQUIRED SKILLS / EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
  • Undergraduate degree in real estate investment & finance preferred;
  • Proven track record of executing real estate transactions with strong underlying knowledge of investment property valuation;
  • Develop maintain strong knowledge of market trends and conditions in the key markets;
  • Strong knowledge of local regulatory policies and guidelines;
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a transactions role dealing with real estate
  • Knowledge in Taiwan urban planning is an advantage;
  • Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail is essential;
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Embrace collaboration and teamwork, willing to take up responsibilities;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) (VBA and other software skills a plus);
  • Fluency in Mandarin required with English a plus
