JOB OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Software Engineer position to advance technology capabilities of our Portfolio Controls IT Team. The team is responsible for building applications and tools to streamline investment implementation tools. This position will primarily focus on building out strategic IT solutions for the Portfolio Controls Group. This individual will be responsible for design, development, and support of mission critical applications that portfolio implementation teams rely on. This position also requires a high level of collaboration and interaction with various stakeholders, and ability to multi-task and deliver in a fast paced and evolving environment. This individual must be a team player, quick learner with a desire and willingness to own deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with project managers, and systems analysts, engineers to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans

• Design, prototype, and code new software components and applications

• Modify and enhance existing systems to meet business needs

• Collaborate with business analysts and engineers to deliver quality, performant solutions

• Ensure adherence and contribution to advance established code-quality standards within the development and QA teams, such as Continuous Integration, Code Reviews, and all required release documentation

• Author technical design and support documentation

• Assist with product deployments and system support

• Act as an escalation point person to handle and investigate technical support issues

QUALIFICATIONS
• Hands-on programming experience in Java, or other programming languages, will be required

• Experience building REST APIS, server-side components

• Experience with data modelling in relational, or document-oriented, databases technologies such as MySQL/Postgres/Elasticsearch is desired

• Experience developing applications with cloud technologies, such as AWS desired

• Experience with various software development/testing methodologies, and experience with tools like JIRA, GIT, Artifactory, Jenkins

• Collaborative; can work both independently and as part of a team, in an energetic, fast-paced, business-critical environment

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

• Display strong ownership of outcomes, attention to details, creativity
