WELLINGTON MANAGEMENT

Wellington Management offers comprehensive investment management capabilities that span nearly all segments of the global capital markets. Our investment solutions, tailored to the unique return and risk objectives of institutional clients in more than 60 countries, draw on a robust body of proprietary research and a collaborative culture that encourages independent thought and healthy debate. As a private partnership, we believe our ownership structure fosters a long-term view that aligns our perspectives with those of our clients.

We are transitioning to a hybrid work environment where both remote work and the office play a critical role. Our vision is a future where all employees are empowered to work flexibly to drive the best outcomes for our clients. Flexible work is a mindset and a core value. Our employees are encouraged to work remotely two days a week as a standard practice and will have flexibility in terms of working hours.

The Enterprise Data Services (EDS) organization is led by the Chief Data Officer within the InvesTech department. The EDS mission is to ensure everyone at Wellington treats data as a critical asset that powers investment and service excellence for our clients. The centralization of Enterprise Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Product Strategy, Enterprise Data Governance, Market Data Services, Data Integrity, and Data Engineering teams bring together people accountable for mobilizing this vision forward. Core to meeting the EDS mission, the Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) team is specifically tasked with enabling our clients and employees to readily find, understand, access and trust critical data. This is achieved by instilling accountability of key roles, establishing standards and processes, and implementing an enterprise meta-data management tool and an enterprise data quality tool with cross platform data stewards, data managers and technology leads.
Position
The EDG team is seeking to hire a Project Manager responsible for defining and leading project management for multiple complex development and implementation roadmaps for the enterprise meta-data management and data quality platforms - as well as for the broader EDS data metrics tool, Data Control Tower (DCT). This Project Manager reports to the EDS Program Manager. This is a hands-on position with many stakeholders and requires a high level of collaboration and interaction with business and technology leads across the department and Firm to inform roadmap content and delivery details. Due to dependencies on teams outside of EDG to deliver success, the Project Manager must embrace iteration and be able to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced and evolving environment. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task, proactively raise questions and roadblocks, and work on a variety of assignments with people at all levels of the organization. Excellent communication and delivery skills are required.

Responsibilities
  • Define, evolve, maintain the Team's use of Jira and Blueprint for overall roadmap and workstream tracking
  • Perform Scrum Master activities for a delivery track and follow the delivery to production
  • Produce and communicate Program updates at weekly internal team forums
  • Manage issues and risks throughout the project by identifying, communicating, tracking, and formulating mitigation strategies
  • Work with issue owners to clarify and resolve issues, defining target dates and dependencies
  • Work with EDS and EDG colleagues to produce status reports to senior stakeholders
Qualifications
  • College degree with preference towards graduate level degree, CFA and/or MBA and at least ten years of broad operational and some management experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering a large complex project
  • Demonstrated experience for being change agent to evolve a team's capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; detail oriented and proactive
  • Outstanding soft skills: oral and written communication, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, conflict resolution
  • Expertise in agile best practices and program management best practices
  • Absolute discretion and confidentiality required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where priorities change frequently, and deadlines are often under significant time pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong business judgment with ability to impact change
Not sure you meet 100% of our qualifications? That's ok. If you believe that you could excel in this role, we encourage you to apply and welcome a chance to review your background. We are dedicated to building and maintaining a diversified workforce and considering a broad array of candidates with a variety of skill, workplace experiences, and backgrounds.
