JOB OVERVIEW

The Derivatives Technology Team seeks to hire an experienced professional in the areas of Project Management and Business Systems Analysis. This team is responsible for all systems that support Wellington's investments in derivative instruments on behalf of our clients. The team is also central to the firm's cross-functional multi-year strategic initiative called Derivatives 2.0. The mission of this strategic program is to advance all aspects of the firm's capabilities to support growth in our derivatives investments on behalf of our clients

This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage both project management expertise and business analysis competency. A portion of the role will involve consolidated project planning, tracking, and reporting for a large onshore/offshore team. This will be complemented with working directly with cross-functional stakeholders to assist with solutions definition and coordination of a large-scale strategic project under the Derivatives 2.0 Program.

This individual can expect to work with other project managers, business analysts, software developers and quality assurance engineers to facilitate project progress and communicate project status with several stakeholder groups. High quality communication, both verbal and written, with an ability to synthesize information at the right level of detail will be paramount in this role. Emotional intelligence, grace and humility when working with so many people will be important attributes of success.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ownership of mid-level project tracking, coordination, and communication

• Collaborate with team members to define, maintain, and manage near/long-term team roadmap

• Create communications and presentation materials around team project status, risks, and issues for different forums, including technology leaders and business partners of varying levels

• Keep a pulse on status, risks, and issues across multiple tracks and projects within the team

• Assist with annual budget planning cycle, tracking spend, and progress against program budget and goals

• Partner with Derivatives 2.0 Program leaders to organize, coordinate, and facilitate a large multi-year cross-functional technology change around the firm's representation of swap instruments

• Creation of critical project documentation and centralization of information

• Collate and manage multiple team's inputs into master project roadmap

• Develop an understanding for and ability to recognize and help manage cross team dependencies

• Lead the analysis of certain aspects of the project, working with different business and technology stakeholders to understand options and facilitate selection of the best option

• Risk and issue identification, tracking and maintenance of numerous project details in JIRA and Blueprint (project reporting platform)

• Facilitate and contribute to the creation of project requirements, design documents and process flows and the like, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
• College degree with preference towards graduate level degree, CFA and/or MBA

• 5-7 years of business systems analysis and/or project management experience

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and "soft" skills, including emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and conflict resolution

• Proven business analysis skills in working with business and IT stakeholders for evaluating solutions to meet business needs

• Demonstrated experience in project management for multiple teams and interdependencies

• Ability to learn business and technical concepts quickly to facilitate project progress and create project management artifacts

• Strong working knowledge of software development lifecycle including agile best practices

• Willingness to help shape how the team operates

• Self-starter who can largely operate independently

• SQL and/or other data analysis skills a plus

• Experience in the Asset Management industry is required

• Knowledge of derivatives workflows is ideal
