Overview
Portfolio Accounting manages and is responsible for the integrity of the books and records of Wellington including reconciliation with our client's custodians to ensure we can provide comprehensive, accurate and transparent information to the firm. The integration of Portfolio Accounting with our investment capabilities provides investors transaction detail behind changes in positions, and a consolidated view of cash for more informed investment decisions.
The Custodian Bank Solutions Analyst within the Portfolio Accounting function is primarily responsible for managing our data needs from our client's custodian banks, prime brokers, and accounting agents ("banks"). The Analyst will focus on data required for controls and workflows within Portfolio Accounting. They will work directly with the banks to influence improvements in the quality and availability of data. The Analyst will coordinate outstanding requests to the banks related to data improvements, access, or quality issues to ensure delivery and/or escalation. They will work closely with internal business and technology teams to ensure we fully utilize the bank's data.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with internal groups to identify issues and/or trends with the quality of the bank/prime broker/accounting agent's ("banks") data
- Drive the implementation and enhancements of the data provided by the banks
- Understanding bank data capabilities and sources
- Work closely with the technology and accounting teams to define requirements of how bank data is utilized
- Analyze bank data to improve the quality of the reconciliation results
- Establish relationships with the banks that service the majority of our clients
- Design and implement a framework for feedback to the banks
The successful candidate for this position is likely to have:
- A bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of experience in the Financial Services industry
- Accounting, custody, and/or reconciliation experience
- Experience working with data in Excel and/or SQL
- •Experience working with, and accounting for, derivatives and synthetic exposures, fixed income, and a broad knowledge of capital markets
- •Inquisitive and comfortable challenging the status quo
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail
- Comfort working across a global team
- A control mindset
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment
- A sense of humor is absolutely required
