Product Specialist (PS), Emerging Technologies - Region: US/EMEA
Definition
The Product Specialist, Emerging Technologies is a blended Product Specialist and management role. Alongside conducting BAU Product Specialist activity, this individual dedicates a proportion of their time to leadership and management responsibilities as defined by the Commercial Director (CD). The PS assists commercial teams in helping to qualify and diagnose new prospects, to design and deliver solutions in highly technical and specialized product applications as well as helping them overcome technical buying barriers. The TL also supports Relationship Management teams in qualifying new upsell opportunities in existing accounts and works with sales to close. Helps train new clients, sales reps and relationship managers on highly technical product applications.
Key Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree required. MBA, advanced industry certification, or technical degree a plus.
Preferred Experience/Skills
2-5 years relevant industry experience and a proven track record in complex technical sales.
Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $75k to $90k. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. Key Responsibilities
- Provides solid technical, industry, product or client workflow knowledge to prospect or client interactions. Works across client levels and personas. Brings consultative approach to determine appropriate client use case.
- Has own territory of accounts and commercial teams to support as per standard Product Specialist workflow.
- Contributes to team and company-wide initiatives (PS Insights, case study library, other ad hoc projects that are self-defined or following guidance from the CD).
- Liaises with senior commercial management regarding technical challenges for prospects and clients.
- Provides ongoing feedback to CD on state of the business, market trends and team performance.
- Has deep knowledge of the TMT industry and specialized knowledge of the technology segment.
- Has a deep knowledge of the entire suite of 451 Research products and the value prop.
- Builds a key network of stakeholders within and adjacent to the 451 Research universe especially in Product, Commercial and Research.
- Has solid understanding of S&P Global MI products and technical requirements.
- Uses strong industry, product, and client expertise to solve complicated client workflow challenges. Solution-oriented individual that focuses on execution.
- Regularly interacts with prospects and clients.
- Works with other functional teams across the organization, i.e., product management, marketing.
- Significantly impacts the sales and revenue results of the team. Critical to sales and account penetration.
