Who we are looking for
State Street Global Markets ("SSGM") Market Surveillance Organization is seeking an Associate Vice President ("AVP") of SSGM Solution Delivery for the Analytics and Surveillance Team in Boston, MA. SSGM Solution Delivery Team leads technology solutions for SSGM business units, including Securities Finance, FX Sales & Trading, Portfolio Solutions, State Street Digital including GlobalLink, and Funding and Collateral Transformation ("FaCT"), allowing business units to manage and deliver advanced capabilities in support of global regulations.
This AVP role will lead state-of-the-art technology projects/programs that support various strategic and tactical initiatives, as well as implementation and operationalization activities for the Market Surveillance Team, that help SSGM to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance. In performing these duties, this AVP will liaise with the business owners, with cross-organization subject-matter experts, and the technology organizations.
This position develops and manages complex projects that span departments and functions across State Street; ensures effectiveness and efficiency of project operations, including indirect staff management responsibilities
Technologies include machine learning, telephony and chat implementation, natural language understanding, and predictive modeling. Exemplary projects include chat and email data retention, communication surveillance, and ongoing reporting.

What you will be responsible for
As Communication Surveillance Solution Delivery, Assistant Vice President you will

  • Defining and implementing a strategic technology plan, including budgets, to support the business requirements of the organization;
  • Defining, leading, and developing project tasks related to SSGM and State Street Digital's tactical and strategic initiatives;
  • Leading all business-side testing initiatives and managing consultants and team members to complete testing within agreed-upon timeframes;
  • Leading integration testing with technology and vendor;
  • Working closely with the Legal and Procurement teams to manage multiple vendor contracts and drive continuous improvement;
  • Supporting Model Validation team to meet regulatory model validation requirement;
  • Developing a plan and strategy to define business-user administration processes and working with key stakeholders in business technology, Compliance, and Security to implement a solution that meets audit requirements for user access control;
  • Acting as subject-matter expert for all products in the communications and trade retention and surveillance industry to ensure that SSGM is best positioned to take advantage of emerging technologies in the industry;
  • Contributing to program strategy, prioritization, and deliverables planning to include the vision and mission, work plans, and operations policy and procedures;
  • Managing ongoing vendor partnerships and deliverables;
  • Identifying and solving problems using analysis, experience, and judgment;
  • Supporting the definition and documentation of business requirements for technology and vendor team's consumption;
  • Collecting, reviewing, and categorizing data to support trend analysis, research, and planning;
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex issues to proactively identify, research, manage, and resolve issues; facilitating communication with business sponsors and stakeholders, which may cross business units and include offshore partners, as well as outside vendors.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
This role requires a broad and deep knowledge of surveillance technologies, an understanding of foreign exchange or equity trading, and experience managing large cloud-based programs.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Business, computer science, or a related field)
• Experience delivering large-scale solutions
• Exposure to delivering communication technologies (email, chat, telephony) is a plus
