What you will be responsible for: The Security Engineer I is a technical resource on the Information Security team responsible for the implementation and effective, efficient maintenance of related technologies to maintain the security posture at MFS. This individual has knowledge of Information Technology at large, with an understanding of related disciplines and how they interoperate. The Security Engineer I is an active participant and contributor in implementation and troubleshooting efforts and aids in design efforts.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Serves as subject matter resource in the field of Information Security, developing and maintaining a strong understanding of the field and its related technologies.
  • Provides technical support to ensure the ongoing efficient and reliable operations of related MFS information systems.
  • Proactively develops and maintains knowledge of MFS information systems and their related components, and makes recommendations to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of these systems as appropriate.
  • Leverages technology to automate manual tasks, and seeks to improve processes or identify efficiency gains wherever practicable and appropriate.
  • Makes recommendations for process improvements.
  • Aids in the development of, and enforces and maintains MFS Information Security controls, procedures, and standards; may participate in audits, as necessary.
  • Utilizes various enterprise-class security solutions for vulnerability management, intrusion detection, security information and event management, etc. to protect MFS and its information.
  • Has the ability to quickly learn and leverage these solutions.
  • Assists in performing security risk assessments to methodically analyze MFS information technology assets and processes, identifying risks from both a technical and business perspective, and recommending mitigation strategies to mitigate those risks to an acceptable level.
  • Collaborates with other IT and business groups, and readily shares information to resolve problems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
  • Two or more years of related Information Security or Information Technology related experience.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Domains, Active Directory, Unix/Linux, Databases, Networking a plus.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as circumstances warrant. CISSP preferred.
