QA Automation Engineer in Data
Who we are looking for
We're looking for a talented, experienced QA Automation Engineer in Data with solid technical skills and a passion for writing and testing software to drive automated testing of our FX trading platform. In this role, you will take primary responsibility for the building Test Frameworks in Python in collaboration with development team. You will work closely with Data Engineering team and review requirements, create test plans that effectively evaluate very complex data pipelines and data processing algos. Position offers location flexibility and control over the daily scheduling.

What you will be responsible for
As a Automation Engineer in Data, you will:
Build, enhance and maintain an automated test infrastructure for validating data pipelines and ETLs. Ability to examine data at different stages in different forms.
  • Evaluate product functionality and create test strategies and test cases to assess product quality and automate the tests.
  • Integrate with SCM infrastructure to establish a continuous build and test cycle using CICD tools - Jenkins or Teamcity.
  • Comfortable working on Linux environment
  • Establish processes and tools set to maintain automation scripts and generate regular test reports.

  • Object-oriented design and coding skills in Python
  • Very good understanding and ability to work with popular data formats like AVRO and Parquet
  • Coding experience with automated testing frameworks, tools, services, and physical devices
  • Knowledge of workflow management and distributed systems
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges, troubleshooting/debugging and solutions
  • Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
  • Self-starter - highly motivated, driven, and able to work effectively both independently and in a team/collaborative environment.
  • A critical thinker-who uses logic to identify alternatives, evaluate, and present approaches to solve complex problems
  • Team Player- comfortable and able to work within a team dynamic to meet goals and objectives.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field
  • Strong understanding and experience in Python
  • Experience in SQL
  • Experience with creating test automation frameworks for large scale data projects using Python
  • Experience developing automation in Java (Good to have)
  • Experience in test framework design and development with JUnit or TestNg framework(Good to have)
  • Ability to work with Ant build script, Maven and latest CICD tools like Jenkins, TeamCity
  • Experience with Linux OS scripting (shell/bash)
  • Experience with testing methodologies (Unit, Integration, System) and API testing
  • Experience working with Databricks delta lake is good to have
