THE POSITION
The Project and Risk Manager will be responsible for the project management of key Legal and Enterprise Risk ("L&ER") initiatives and the ongoing assessment of the internal control infrastructure of the group. The manager will partner with senior management, subject matter experts and IT in the execution of projects affecting change to meet new requirements, mitigate risks and improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of L&ER workflows. The manager will assist in the development and implementation of department-wide project management principles and reporting as well as the coordination of analyst efforts.

This role will report to the Associate Director of Legal & Enterprise Risk.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The L&ER Project and Risk Manager's responsibilities include:
  • Provide effective project management expertise for departmental and cross functional initiatives with a focus on technology-based solution delivery
  • Deliver solutions via technology or workflow enhancements that meet business needs, mitigate risks, and improve effectiveness and process efficiencies
  • Act as a thought partner with business colleagues across the firm to assist in the identification of departmental and cross functional initiatives
  • Assist in the establishment and upkeep of project management reporting tools
  • Execute departmental risk assessments
    • Perform periodic process reviews to evaluate risk/efficiencies
    • Evaluate control infrastructure & provide recommendations
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate should bring 8+ years of project management and business analysis experience on diverse initiatives within investment management or related industry. In addition, the Project and Risk Manager should have the following attributes and qualifications:
  • Strong working knowledge in various aspects of investment management industry
  • Proven success as a project manager
  • Team-oriented: ability to apply analytical and decision-making skills in a collaborative environment
  • Service oriented: ability to balance regulatory and policy standards along with a business perspective
  • A technical orientation with deep experience with enterprise technology concerns
  • Exceptional organizational skills: ability to effectively prioritize tasks, produce consistently accurate work and meet strict deadlines
  • Strategic thinker, sound judgment, risk awareness and problem solving & decision-making skills
  • Business process and workflow design skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Strong academic credentials, PMP a plus
  • Experience with M365 eco-system is desirable
