Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced investment professional to join our team. This individual will focus on supporting our existing and new Alternative Equity Strategies. The Trader will contribute to hands-on research on the drivers of transaction costs, performance, and risk, as well as help coordinate research efforts between the Equity Alternatives team, Portfolio Construction, and the Implementation Research team. Additionally, this Trader will play an active role in the day-to-day management for Equity Alts strategies. We expect the Trader to be actively involved in all facets of the investment process as well as new product development. This role will report to the Head of Trading & Portfolio Construction.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop a solid understanding of the drivers of portfolio performance and positioning across the entire range of Equity Alts strategies
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of all transaction cost models and aspects of portfolio construction in the furtherance of ongoing idea generation and process improvements
  • Leverage the firm's research resources (Equity Alts, Global Equity Research, Portfolio Construction, etc.), to design, manage, and execute complex research projects while also being able to work independently
  • Contribute to the development of the Equity Alts order workflow
  • Communicate market insights via verbal and written thought pieces to the investment team
  • Responsible for analyzing and communicating post-trade execution analysis
  • Work in close collaboration with other internal teams (Hedge Fund Operations, IT, Operations, etc.) to improve the operational aspects of the Equity Alts business


We're Looking for Teammates With:
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, statistics, mathematics, computer science or a related field; Master's degree and/or CFA is strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of prior work experience, preferably in quantitative trading, research, and portfolio management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of conventional or proprietary OMS, EMS, and TCA research
  • Strong programming skills (Python preferred) and experience working with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistics/econometrics and experience working with large data sets (3rd party and proprietary)
  • Analytical skills and the ability to clearly articulate the approach, process, and results in verbal, graphical and written form
  • Willingness and ability to work in a collegial, results-oriented environment - must be a strong team player
  • Interest in following financial markets and a strong quantitative orientation for investing
  • Drive to deliver on high value projects and a roll up your sleeves attitude
