Overview
Performance Services is responsible for the oversight and analysis of performance, attribution, and composites across all asset classes.

The Performance Analyst is part of the Performance Services team, responsible for firm-wide oversight of performance calculations, contribution and attribution analysis, composite review, and GIPS compliance. This role involves working closely with internal departments including with Investment Products & Fund Strategies and Investors as well as groups within InvesTech to provide analysis and guidance on performance related inquiries and business issues.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure portfolio performance integrity through use and oversight of proprietary performance reporting, attribution, and contribution tools; analyze performance and attribution data to communicate findings to investors, product management, and client facing teams.
  • Provide guidance on performance and attribution methodologies and results to investment, product and relationship teams; work with investment teams to enhance attribution capabilities for new and evolving investment strategies and instruments
  • Liaison with InvesTech teams on various operational challenges that impact performance and the investment process including pricing, derivative operations, corporate actions, asset transfers, and cash flows
  • Collaborate with IT to develop and integrate technology solutions to enhance our performance reporting tools and deliver performance and attribution data downstream to the business
  • Assist in the design and implementation of policies, procedures and reporting to effectively identify and resolve operational issues, mitigate business risk, and establish best practices
  • Provide support to Composite Team on composite related issues, including construction, performance calculations, and dispersion analysis
  • Opportunity to manage long-term projects including systems and infrastructure enhancements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Investment related experience including a detailed understanding of daily transaction-based performance and attribution; extensive knowledge of investment accounting; derivatives experience a plus
  • Investment curiosity and desire to develop a deep understanding of Wellington's investment strategies and products
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tactical and strategic goals in a fast-paced environment; comfortable with changing priorities based on business demand
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent business judgment with fiduciary mindset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; the ability to effectively synthesize complex data and analysis for performance and attribution data consumers
  • Experience with SQL and relational database technology and/or with Python would be viewed favorably
  • Proven track record for initiating and implementing change
  • Knowledge of multi-asset, fixed income, and/or equity asset classes is preferred
  • Strong academic credentials (or progress toward); CFA, CIPM and/or MBA preferred
