POSITION

The objective of the Sustainable Investments (SI) COO Team is to operationalize Wellington's strategic vision for sustainability and ESG. This includes cross-platform efforts to evolve internal infrastructure including business policies and processes, data and technology, stewardship and proxy voting, client reporting, product disclosure, business analytics, and develop and execute the SI operational strategy to meet our investment, client, and regulatory imperatives.

The primary focus of the Sustainable Investment Program Manager (the "Program Manager") will be to centrally coordinate, and project manage the streams of SI-related work across our investment, client, and infrastructure platforms to grow our business and be responsive to and anticipate market evolution globally. The Program Manager will be responsible for communicating the progress being made to meet Wellington's strategic objectives including sustainable investment integration goals, SI-related regulatory deadlines & client requirements to a wide variety of different audiences. The Program Manager will report to the COO, Sustainable Investment and work collaboratively with the SI COO and SI Leadership and across business areas to establish a long-term, cross-platform, workstream program governance model that will become core to our firmwide processes for years to come.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with the COO, Sustainable Investment to support the development of detailed, prioritized multi-year business execution plans, identifying key dependencies between plans, and synthesizing the key deliverables across business functions in a collective plan that supports the delivery of our organizational SI ambitions
  • Employ effective project management methodologies to assess and minimize any project risk, escalating issues and barriers as necessary
  • Measure KPIs using appropriate tools/techniques, track completion of action items, and develop baseline metrics of success
  • Work with SI COO and SI functional leads to identify issues, risks, and dependencies
  • Devise communication program to effectively keep all stakeholders abreast of project status updates, feedback, and reporting on program plans
  • Coordinate follow-ups and decision making around resourcing and timelines across the firm
  • Ensure the workplan is a living document which adjusts as needs and resources change
  • Centralize management of all artifacts
QUALIFICATIONS

Additional qualifications and individual characteristics include:
  • College degree with preference towards graduate level degree, CFA and/or MBA and at least five years of broad operational experience, preferably in asset management or management consulting
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification viewed favorably
  • Passion for sustainability and ESG
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; detail oriented, proactive and resourceful
  • Demonstrated ability to engage the organization appropriately, making sure that all relevant parties and functional groups are informed, involved, and engaged
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where priorities may need to be rebalanced
  • Capacity for differentiated thinking and ability to problem solve effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
