State Street Global Markets Portfolio Solutions group provides trading and exposure management solutions to institutional investors globally. Strategies cover a range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, FX, and exchange traded derivatives. The Portfolio Solutions Strategy Team operates across products and is dually responsible for client-facing strategy consulting and internal product development.

What you will be responsible for
As Investment and Product Strategist Portfolio Solutions, AVP you will
  • Client Consulting; Understanding client investment challenges, performing quantitative and qualitative analysis, and presenting findings internally and to existing and prospective clients
  • Representing trading products as a subject matter expert
  • Supporting sales and business development initiatives across products
  • Assessing internal business operations (trading strategies, trading performance, technology, data management, marketing strategy, research) and developing solutions to enhance product positioning
  • Leading and contributing to strategic projects in partnership with other groups / businesses within State Street as well as external vendors, including ongoing evolution of our pre- and post-trade analytics

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, finance or similar
  • MBA, graduate degree in a quantitative discipline, or CFA designation preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a consulting or analytical role
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to clearly articulate complex topics to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Experience with investment management and trading functions, preferably across multiple asset classes
  • Technically proficient and analytically-minded with modeling experience in Excel / VBA
  • Experience using Bloomberg and other market-data sources for analytical purposes
  • Expertise in Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) preferred
  • Experience with programming languages, data visualization software, and database infrastructures a plus
  • Ability to work and problem solve independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced trading environment
  • Self-motivated and pro-active in seeking out the next project to help the team
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
Additional requirements
  • Exposure to multiple teams and business lines within a large global organization.
  • Internal and external presentation opportunities, including strategy component of client proposals
  • In-depth understanding of multi-asset agency trading, exposure management, and currency hedging strategies
  • Insight into the trading life cycle including pre-trade, implementation, and post-trade aspects
  • Exposure to TCA including benchmarking and measurement of our trade execution performance
