Portfolio Manager – Equity Index

Geode’s equity index team manages over $700 billion of global equity assets benchmarked to US, developed markets, emerging markets and thematic indices.  The vehicles managed include ETF’s, separately managed accounts, and sub-advised mutual funds for both domestic and international investors. The Portfolio Manager will become an integral member of a team responsible for managing passive strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all portfolios are managed within their investment objectives
• Analyze and interpret risk reports, monitor day-to-day cash flows, and generate trades to keep portfolios in line with performance expectations
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements that streamline the portfolio management workflow
• Own fund performance and understand the drivers of performance attribution
• Assist in client reporting and other ad-hoc analysis

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar position and an in-depth knowledge of the index portfolio management and cash flow processes
• Equity portfolio construction expertise is required
• Familiarity with index methodologies used by global index providers
• Understanding of domestic and international equity markets along with various instruments including ETFs, futures and currencies
• Technology driven individual with experience using proprietary and/or vendor systems for portfolio and risk management, optimizations, and trade order management
• Familiarity with using: Bloomberg, Charles River Development (CRD) and Axioma
• SQL programming skills is a plus
• A self-motivated team player capable of working well with colleagues across the business to drive projects or tasks through to completion
• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize work under pressure
• BA Degree in Finance or Business or Related Field
• Master’s degree, CFA or progress towards completion of CFA preferred
