General Description

The Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board (PRIM) seeks an IT Business Systems Analyst, reporting to the Director of IT. The IT Business Systems Analyst serves as an IT generalist focusing on business analysis and project management but may be asked to participate in other department initiatives.  The IT Business Systems Analyst will act as an intermediary between IT and the business, working to understand processes, gather requirements and participate in the maintenance of existing systems and the successful implementation of new systems and upgrades. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work with business users to understand and document internal business processes for existing and future systems
  • Independently lead requirements-gathering sessions
  • Develop and analyze functional requirements for technology solutions, with stakeholders, to ensure business needs are well understood
  • Work with vendor and solutions architects to communicate business needs; oversee the translation of functional requirements into software products
  • Act as potential system administrator for business systems and/or related infrastructure
  • Develop or contribute to the development of users guides
  • Perform user acceptance testing
  • Perform user training on business systems
  • Analyze user, process, and systems data and create executive analytics dashboards
  • Participate in and actively lead projects within IT

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5-7 years of relevant hands-on experience
  • Exposure to CRM or Business Intelligence software is a plus
  • Experience working on multiple projects with time sensitive deadlines
  • Experience leading requirements-gathering sessions
  • Must be able to communicate with non-technical (business) and technical (development) audiences
  • Willingness to take ownership of activities outside direct job responsibilities, when necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability working in a fluid environment where visions and requirements may change
  • Proficient in MS Word, Visio and Project
  • Highly organized
  • Vendor management experience
  • Familiarity with software design and development preferred
  • Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server Operating Systems experience preferred
