OVERVIEW
As Manager of the Derivatives Operations Group, the Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the collateral, Future's margining, OTC clearing, bilateral settlements and trade notification functions. The Derivative Operations manager will provide strategic leadership and strong oversight of the day-to-day functioning of the operations including both bilateral OTC products and cleared products. Additionally, the manager will work closely with our OTC service provider, help drive prioritization of IT initiatives, and support for our investors and clients around OTC derivatives.

The ideal candidate is an OTC derivatives veteran with a significant amount of management experience and is highly knowledgeable of OTC derivative products and the technology used to support OTC and cleared instruments across the industry. An ideal candidate would have a derivative middle office background and should understand both the operational components as well as analytics behind OTC derivatives.  Having a strong foundation across a broad range of OTC products, and a strong understanding of the traditional bi-lateral ISDA governance model, and knowledge of current proposed regulatory reform initiatives is a necessity.

The candidate will work closely within the Portfolio Administration management team as a strong and contributing member, but will also work closely with the Investment Technology and Trading team to support the controlled operational process of supporting OTC derivatives. 
RESPONSIBILITIES Primary responsibilities:
• Work closely with Derivative Operations staff to develop and foster a balanced and controlled environment;

• Oversee the daily workflows and ensure a controlled environment is strengthened;

• Spearhead the ongoing assessment of system capabilities, development, workflows and any outsourcing opportunities;

• Work closely with our Trading, Data and IT to ensure new and complex OTC instruments are properly represented in our systems;

• Partner with internal and external clients to maintain timely, accurate and thorough support of clients' complex and routine derivative related requirements;

• Keep up to date with industry trends, changes and initiatives;

• Work with team members on intra-departmental initiatives;

•  Drive Strategic planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate for this position is likely to:
  • An individual with 7 to 10 years of OTC derivatives experience and 5+ years of management experience
  • A bachelor's degree with progress toward a graduate degree or the CFA is a plus
  • An experienced individual with a strong derivative background in valuations, collateral and derivative systems
  • An intelligent, highly motivated and passionate professional committed to excellence and to providing outstanding client service
  • A proven leader with strong people skills and the ability to work in an intense, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • An experienced manager that  exhibits an ability to ask tough questions and make quick and decisive decisions
  • A creative, independent and strategic thinker who will focus on continuous improvement and affect positive change within the group and the firm
  • An individual with a high degree of integrity and ethical standards
  • A person with excellent written and verbal communications skills, the ability to clearly articulate complicated technical issues, and pro-actively keep management informed on all risk matters
