POSITION

We are currently seeking to recruit a Research Associate (RA) to join our Investment Research Group. Based in Boston, this individual will focus on high yield credits in a number of industries. As part of the High Yield Credit Research team, the RA will work directly with High Yield Credit Analysts to conduct fundamental research and support the credit analysts' research agenda. The ideal candidate will help build and maintain complex financial models, and assist in developing and effectively communicating investment recommendations that add value to client portfolios. In addition, the RA will interact with several Portfolio Managers, Traders and other analysts across our global investment platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities for this position will include the following:
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of detailed financial models and industry databases to aid in analyzing existing and prospective investments;
  • Maintaining integrity of issuer data and analyses, and comparative valuation tools;
  • Conducting analyses of financial results with the credit analyst
  • Monitoring and listening to relevant news, announcements, and conference calls;
  • Attending internal and external investment meetings; and
  • Contributing to the research agenda of coverage area and to written research and maintenance reports on companies.


QUALIFICATIONS

A successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of buy-side or sell-side research, investment banking, or other relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in and passion for investing in fixed income; a strong desire to analyze credit investment opportunities is required and experience analyzing securities across the capital structure would be additive.
  • An undergraduate degree with a strong academic record; progress towards or completion of the CFA is a plus;
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (both written and oral);
  • Demonstrated analytical capability and financial modeling skills;
  • Proven organizational and time management skills as well as ability to work well under pressure;
  • Strict attention to detail and strong work ethic;
  • Curiosity, a capacity for differentiated thinking and perspective, and a growth mindset; and
  • Ability to take risk and try new things.
