Reporting to the CIO, contribute investment research to our four model equity strategies. Some work will be independent and other work will be in support of our senior analysts and portfolio managers. The primary areas of coverage by the team are large cap US equities with additional coverage of mid cap and international holdings. Generalist flexibility preferred, but specific preferences (if any) should be mentioned in cover letter.

The role will also serve as the point person for all external manager due diligence and monitoring in cases where mutual funds or ETFs are used to access certain areas of the market. This portion of the role will include exposure to global markets, commodities and fixed income. Periodic collaboration with fixed income team is likely.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating, debating and working in a team environment. Must also be willing to participate on investment, managerial or administrative committees and projects as appropriate. 


Equity Research

  •  Support senior analysts and portfolio managers on research ideas and projects
  •  Maintain/develop technology, model templates and processes related to the equity research effort
  •  Participate in peer review of stock recommendations and discussions of portfolio positioning
  •  Attend various investment meetings, industry conferences, and broker/analyst/company meetings
  •  Monitor and analyze economic releases, corporate earnings, and other market data
  •  Make buy, sell or hold recommendations on individual securities across assigned sectors based on thorough fundamental analysis – degree of autonomy will depend upon experience and team need

Manager/Instrument Due Diligence

  • Point person for analysis and monitoring of external managers, funds or ETFs to supplement portfolios
  • In addition to global equities, maintain knowledge of fixed income and other cross asset class opportunities on the basis of geography, factor exposures and/or asset type
  • These efforts could cover risk management needs, tactical opportunities or long term strategic allocations

General Data Management, Asset Allocation and Trading Support

  • Maintain/develop technology and processes related to asset allocation, client management and performance/risk analysis
  • Assist CIO and team on strategic asset allocation and macro research as needed
  • Be trained as a backup trader to cover vacations and other conflicts of the lead trader


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field
  • CFA designation, or progress toward, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment analysis
  • Generalist flexibility preferred
  • Experience with Bloomberg and/or FactSet preferred
  • Analytical and technical skills in Excel and database software
  • Additional programming and advanced data analysis skills preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate, debate, and work in team environment
  • Willingness to participate on investment, technology or administrative committees and projects as appropriate

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  •  Normal office environment
  •  Moderate travel throughout Northeast, if needed
