POSITION

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Fixed Income Credit Analyst to join our Municipal Credit Research team, located in Boston.  This individual will be primarily responsible for national coverage of not-for-profit hospitals and public colleges and universities.  As an active member of the Municipal team, s/he will be fully integrated into the investment process and will be expected to provide fundamental research and relative value recommendations that benefit client portfolios, as well as to help shape portfolio management decisions.  In addition, municipal analysts regularly interact and collaborate with other investment professionals at the firm including other analysts in Fixed Income Credit Research, portfolio managers, traders, macro analysts, and equity analysts.  Investments in these sectors ($6+bil AUM) are held across global portfolios in both tax-exempt and taxable markets.  Additional sector coverage will be considered depending on the ideal candidate's background, skill set, and expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be an experienced healthcare analyst with deep fundamental research skills and a formal credit training background (from a bank, rating agency, bond insurer or other investment firm.)  In addition, the Analyst will be intellectually curious, analytically and quantitatively rigorous, and will thrive in a highly collaborative environment that fosters rich investment dialogue, debates, and insights from diverse perspectives.

Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of previous municipal credit research experience with expertise in healthcare;
  • High level of initiative and experience developing and implementing value-added investment recommendations;
  • Interest in relating the credit risk of covered credits to those of other sectors, and placing them into a relative value framework;
  • Strong influencing, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Comfort dealing with uncertainty and risk, and ability to make investment decisions that are supported by rigorous analysis and communicated with strong conviction;
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team, while also communicating and interacting with a larger group of investment professionals; and
  • Strong academic credentials. A Bachelors level degree is required and a post-graduate degree or professional qualification (e.g. CFA) is preferred.
