The Business Development Analyst (BDA) is a member of the USFIG team supporting our clients' sales, marketing and distribution efforts.  This individual will work closely with the Portfolio Advisors and Relationship Managers and provide targeted sales, marketing and distribution support to a focus list of clients. 


Specific responsibilities include the following:


Proactive engagement and deepening of relationship with clients' sales organizations (internals and externals) Regularly call on and build relationships with internal sales organizations and product specialists Host broker/dealer onsite due diligence meetings Periodic travel in the field to support wholesalers (e.g. internal wholesaler trainings, travel with wholesaler on roadshows, National Sales Meetings, etc…)


Work with RMs, Product Management, and Marketing to produce client specific content (fact sheets, whitepapers, "case for" papers, video scripts and production, pitch books in client format) Draft timely, brief sales ideas and market updates (either in bullets to send to client or voicemail) Provide updates to USFIG team about what we are hearing in the field, including product trends, what other managers are doing, opportunities for impact Serve as the "expert" on specific sales organizations (e.g. Edward Jones)

Marketing/Sales Tracking and Coordination:

Track and report on USFIG marketing/sales activity Gather, maintain, and analyze sales data for focus clients to identify opportunities where we should provide targeted support;  work closely with RMs/PAs to develop and execute plan Coordinate internal approvals and licensing for pieces that clients want to rebrand Track marketing support travel and expenses by client and analyze impact of marketing support


We seek the following professional and personal qualifications:
  • Deep and broad knowledge of the global capital markets, investment styles,  and instruments
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Solid relationship building skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Sound business judgment
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively within team environment and a willingness to "pitch in" when necessary
  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines; exhibit grace under pressure
  • Understanding of intermediary sold mutual fund industry
  • Experience with mutual fund industry and systems such as Lipper, Morningstar, and SimFund a plus, but not required
  • MBA and/or CFA designation or equivalent advance degree preferred (or progress towards)
